11/24/2004 - CDT™ makes REAL-SAFE™ training available to the Real Estate Agent community.
Tom Patire of CDT Inc. announced a Personal Protection Program for Real Estate Agents called REAL-SAFE™. Mr Patire's research indicated that agents were often targeted for criminal acts because they often met with people that they did not know in locations that were quite often isolated.
11/24/2004 - CDT™ Training is now available at Defender Martial Arts!
Herb Cowan, owner and head instructor at Defender Martial Arts announced that he is now a Certified Tactical Master for CDT Inc. "I am excited at the potential with CDT training." Mr. Cowan said. "We now have the ability to give people Self Protection skills that would otherwise have none."
CDT is the Self Protection system put together by Tom Patire. It came from his work in martial arts and in his experience as a body guard and instructor of body guards. Mr. Patire's Training For Life™ program is specifically designed for those individuals who either do not have the desire or ability to train in a hard style martial art, but still have the unalienable right to acquire skills that can be used to protect themselves.
11/24/2004 - Herb Cowan is Certified as a Child Safety Instructor in Tom Patire's KNOW&GO™ CHILD SAFETY COURSE
The KNOW&GO Child Safety Course was released nationally on November 1, 2002 and within the first week over 1,000 children enrolled and successful passed the course. This internationally trademarked and Patent Pending child safety course is being taught at martial arts schools across the country to fulfill the need for a safe, proven, and fun course that focuses on potential dangerous sounds and situations and what to do.
The KNOW&GO Child Safety Course is the latest brain child of Tom Patire, who is rapidly becoming one of the most recognized faces in the crusade to keep people safe from danger. Patire, an internationally recognized authority on personal protection, has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Orlando Times, Crain's Business, The Star Ledger. Tom has also been on Good Morning America, Inside Edition, CNN, A&E, Bloomberg, Good Day NY, and The Ananda Lewis Show. The focus of character development for children is on the rise, but the KNOW & GO Child Safety Course has taken a different approach in keeping children safe from both intentional and unintentional injuries that statistically happen to kids between the ages of 4 -12.
KNOW&GO was developed after Patire observed his son's, who at the time was 5 years old, reaction to the sound of glass breaking. Hearing a glass break in our kitchen, Patire recalled, "I watched my son's curiosity immediately overwhelm his sense of personal safety as he ran to see what happened. He was barefoot and had no idea exactly where the glass had broken. Luckily my hands are still a little quicker than his feet so I was able to grab him before he got too far, but it made me think. I began researching the sounds most associated with danger and came up with a simple to learn, easy fun program that can help protect a child from every day injuries to possible abductions."
The KNOW&GO Level I Child Safety Course, for children ranging in age from 4 to 7 years old, is designed around a unique obstacle course designed to train the audible recognition pattern (hearing) and the eye-hand and eye-foot (reflexes) in order to help the child live a safer life while giving a parent a comfort in knowing that their children are in the safe mode during their everyday activities. Tom Patire, speaking as a concerned parent, says being a parent isn't simply about nursing a sick child, or putting a roof over their heads and food on the table, or helping with homework. Tom developed and implemented the KNOW&GO Child Safety Course to give the parent a program to help them educate their child as well as themselves to be more safety conscious and cautious in their everyday life.
KNOW&GO Level II is geared for children ranging in age from 8 to 12 years old. Tom's research showed that if a child was going to be abducted it would happen in 30 seconds or less. If he could teach children to delay their abduction, they may well avoid it altogether. This course teaches them techniques to add precious minutes in delay and give them an opportunity to either get away or frustrate the abductor to the point that they will give up.
